Comprehensive training program designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to drive a heavy combination vehicle safely and professionally.
What You'll Learn
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to drive a heavy combination vehicle safely. It includes maintaining systematic and efficient control of all vehicle functions, monitoring traffic and road conditions, managing vehicle condition and performance, coupling and uncoupling a trailer, and effectively managing hazardous situations. Driving must be carried out in accordance with relevant state/territory roads and traffic authority licence requirements and regulations for heavy combination vehicles. Driving is performed with limited supervision, and duty of care responsibility for self and others in achieving the prescribed outcomes.
Upon Successful Completion:
Students are issued with a Statement of Attainment.
You must complete the unit and be issued with the Statement of Attainment before you can attempt the DOT Practical Driving
(PDA).

All HC assessments are conducted by our DOT approved Assessors onsite at our Midvale facility.
Upon completion we will provide you with a Statement of Attainment and other documents that you will take to the WA Department of
Transport DOT Licensing Centre. The Department of Transport then issues the licence.
Note: If you hold an interstate or international licence, please contact the Dept of Transport to obtain either a Learners’ Permit or transfer
your interstate licence to a WA licence.

What you need before enrolling in the HC training course
- Licence Requirements
To apply to upgrade to a HC class licence, you must have held:
Car (C class) Licence
For at least 3 years
AND
Medium Rigid (MR) or Heavy Rigid (HR)
For at least 1 year
